Cargill in Bulgaria
The first Cargill entity in Bulgaria - Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain business EMEA, was established in 2006 and headquartered in Sofia. Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain is one of the core businesses of Cargill in Bulgaria and is mostly focused on grains and oilseeds merchandising. Cargill is focused on serving customers based on their specific needs, segmenting the customer service levels by origination channels and being the trusted partner for farmers and non-farmer suppliers.
In 2013, we opened a second office in Varna, where our Ocean Transportation team runs the execution of Cargill’s global trade of physical vessel voyages and time charters, associated port calls, technical supplier and agency management using their extensive technical knowledge to optimize vessel performance.
In 2014 we established the headquarters for our European shared business services center in Sofia – Cargill business services, from where we offer finance, transportation and logistics, strategic sourcing and procurement and HR solutions to Cargill’s businesses in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Cargill’s business services in Sofia employs over 900 professionals, who manage critical processes and deliver a broad portfolio of high-quality services with a strong focus on efficiencies and operational excellence, externally benchmarked to world-class service delivery.
Currently the company has more than 1200 employees at the three locations in Bulgaria.
